Future Media Mogul Seeks Investors For College Town Media Invasions!

At a private meeting on the southside of Chicago, aspiring Executive Producer Steven Jennings announced he is currently seeking investors and supporters for several College Based TV shows, which include a mixture of musical live performances, various competitions and a comical reality TV show that's simply hilarious.

Chicago, IL February 17, 2004--A visionary young man is positioning himself to make a triumphant return to television. During the past week, Steve Jennings has been disclosing some of his ideas to the media.

Steve Jennings is currently seeking investors for confidential TV show concepts which he has created. The shows include a mixture of musical live performances, various competitions and a comical reality TV show that's simply hilarious. "Im glad BET is exploring reality shows on a college campus. Hopefully, these are the beginning signs of a trend. It could open doors for TV shows like the ones I'm working on. I have some reality show concepts too. I try to span across the board and transcend cultural barriers, with great entertainment, Jennings said.

During our interview Jennings also said, "I remember the days of Its a Different World when Cosby made kids interested in School. I also consider the great movie School Daze when Spike Lee made teens dream of joining a fraternity. Those shows were positive for young Black, White and Hispanic kids."

Steve currently has a Bachelors degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Education Administration with an emphasis in College Student Personnel Administration, from Illinois State University.

He plans to complete a second Masters Degree in Mass Communication. "I'm only going to college to get an education. But by the time I finish my Mass Communications degree, I want to have made a contribution to the employment of college graduates, college student administration and the fields of Education, Mass Communication and Business in general," Jennings said.

The solo representation of Hip-Hop within the ghetto shows only one aspect of a kid from the hood. Some of us go to college, and I want to increase that number. More kids from the hood should go to college. Hey if you want to be a rapper, why not learn how to market yourself with a proven method? Learn about media, business, entertainment, music and computers so you can be the most talented cat in the game. Hip-Hop is a multi-billion dollar industry. There are so many creative things we can do with entertainment and a college environment," Jennings said.

Jennings continued, "I grew up in an area of Harvey Illinois thats as ghetto as any other hood. As a child, I remember some kids going away to college, but nobody made a big deal of it. Thats the fundamental problem. It's because of a lack of focus on the subject. Nobody in the community makes a big fuss about going to college.

Too many kids today are aspiring to get on the block and establish a street reputation. Actually, they should be encouraged in a venue outside of school, to take the proper steps to get in a good college. Growing up in the hood is only the beginning of a learning process called life," Jennings said.

"Music, Radio and TV are venues that dictate what's hot and what's not. Let's make college hot again! Even for the thugs out there, contrary to popular belief, thugs go to college too. I guess you could say that I myself was a thug back in the day. Im living proof that an education can turn your life around, Jennings said.

Steve once aired a hip-hop music video show on UPN in Florida. He said, "In 2002 I was having conversations with The Director of Programming for BET. It was really great to hear from someone on that level."

Supporters of Steve Jennings TV show programs could receive either a percentage of ownership in the shows or mega advertising and promotion.

Its not just going to be one TV show. I plan to have several shows and constant special events to surround each program. I will be living in Central Illinois. Many talented young people from States across the nation attend school in this area. Were talking at least four big colleges and none of them are further than a two hour drive away. The schools are close enough to do some regular visiting. Plus, the populations are very diverse. I want to target all races, not just minorities, Jennings said.

I have seen so many students converge for a single event in these college towns that its unbelievable. College kids like to travel and in Illinois they have a great communication network. My personal edge is that I will have my finger on the pulse of today's college student. I will be an active student myself. It's also somewhat of a personal sociological study. But I want to stress that continuing my education is my primary reason for being there," Jennings said.

Steve Jennings is seeking financial backing to create and produce these programs. He said, I will have access to an all-star team of students in every department imaginable. It will be a learning experience for them and an opportunity to make some extra cash. Im already talking to some local TV stations and it appears to be coming together very well. We will be selling advertisement and doing special events to raise money. But what we really need is a Corporation to back us. The more professional we look, the quicker and larger the following. I have plans for national expansion.
